Did You Know #7

We’re back with another round of “Did You Know” content taken straight from our LinkedIn posting and arranged here for your viewing pleasure. I can’t miss the opportunity to force a pun, so here goes: Climb to new heights in your digital marketing career by grabbing hold of these industry updates! We’re starting to write more and more under each image lately, so I’ll be brief. Read through some updates, learn about the industry, and keep coming back for more!

Google introduced "recommendations" to Google Ads years ago, some of which are helpful while others are blatantly designed to earn Google more money. We're talking things like, "Increase your budget to improve your Optimization Score" (a made-up number that says how often you listen to Google). Now, recommendations are coming to the SEO side. Some may take that as a sign that SEO is getting easier to do yourself. We'd argue the opposite is true since soon, there will be even more noise to sift through when making decisions. Want SEO advice from people who track the industry and have been working in it for years? Follow our page and reach out for tips.

If you work in Google Ads, you've probably been putting off learning the new Google Ads UI, clicking the "Use Previous Design" button every time you log in. That's not going to be an option for long with Google Ads mandating the new design by the end of the month. While some aspects of the new UI are designed to streamline workflows, other changes are tucked away behind additional layers and drop-downs. Shared Negative Lists are hidden behind "Exclusions", Search Query Reports now live within the Reports tab. More importantly, many auto-apply settings and automated creative options are buried behind several clicks. Want to make sure you can find the most important settings in the new Google experience? Reach out and we can show you around!

Google's "Local Services Ads" allow you to advertise your business on Google and receive leads in the form of phone calls and messages. Listings appear at the top of Google search results and encourage searchers to locate or contact your business. Now, Google is going to start featuring images from your LSA profile in those ads automatically. That should mean a better, more visual experience for searchers with advertisers reaping the rewards. It also means that LSA profiles with few or low-quality images could find themselves falling behind or misrepresenting their brand. Therefore, it's never been more important for LSA advertisers to audit or augment the images in their accounts. Want help making updates or getting started with Local Services Ads? Reach out!

It's back-to-school shopping season, it's the countdown to Labor Day, and before we know it, we'll see Halloween products popping up in stores while the scent of sunscreen still lingers in the air. People are going to be shopping and where they choose to do it comes down to prices and deals. Getting these promotions up and running on your various marketing channels is pivotal. With options like Promotion Assets, Merchant Promotions, and Countdown Timers, you can get your offers in front of shoppers quickly and effectively. Want help getting yours set up? That's what we're here for!

SEO is all about creating valuable content and supplying search engines with useful information so your important pages can be seen more often. But how does the rise of AI impact that mission? That's where GEO comes in. GEO shares a similar mission to SEO but with a focus on increasing visibility and user experience in AI-driven search results. There are nuances involved in a GEO strategy that set it apart from a standard SEO approach.
